Atty. Gargantiel obtained his degree in Political Science from the
University of Santo Tomas in 1999. He received his Bachelor of Laws
degree in the same University in 2003, and was admitted to the
Philippine Bar in 2004. He taught at the Polytechnic University of the
Philippines—College of Law, and College of Accountancy, and at the
University of Makati, College of Governance and Public Policy. For over
a decade, he teaches Obligations and Contracts, Corporation Law, Public
Corporations (Local Government), Labor Law, Political Law, Persons and
Family Relations, Partnership, Agency, Sales, and Negotiable
Instruments.
He served as the legal consultant of various divisions of city schools
of the Department of Education. With his exposure in Public
Corporations, Administrative Law, and Election Law, he served as legal
consultant for various local government units, and has been representing
prominent political figures in both national and local elections. He is
also the corporate secretary and a member of the board of directors of
the firm’s corporate clients.
Atty. Gargantiel is a noted speaker and lecturer on Crimes Committed by
Public Officers, Administrative Liabilities of Public Officers, Searches
and Seizures, and Data Privacy. He is the author of the book “Criminal
Law for Public Officers”.
In August 2018, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte appointed him as a member
of the Board of Directors of DBP Data Center, a government owned and
controlled corporation (GOCC).
Concurrent with his law practice, he teaches Criminal Law at the College
of Law, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.
Atty. Gargantiel has been recognized by Asia Law Business Journal as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in the Philippines.
Atty. Ilagan earned his Bachelor of Arts Major in Political Science
degree at De La Salle University-Manila in 2006 where he graduated Cum
Laude. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree at the San Beda
University, College of Law-Mendiola in 2010 where he graduated
Salutatorian. He was a recipient of various awards such as, Prof. Edna
Herrera-Batacan Publication Award and Dean Feliciano Jover Ledesma
Academic Achievement Award. He was also the Editor-in-Chief of the San
Beda Law Journal. Atty. Ilagan taught at the San Beda College of Arts
and Sciences (2014) and the Emilio Aguinaldo College.
He was a Junior Associate at the Angara Abello Concepcion Regala Cruz
Law Offices (ACCRALAW) (2011-2013). He is currently a professor of Law
at the San Beda University College of Law. He is also a pre-bar lecturer
at San Beda University Law Review Center.

Labor Law, Administrative Law, Telecommunications and Public Utilities,

Atty. Atanante obtained his Bachelor’s degree at the University of the Philippines, Diliman and his Bachelor of Laws degree at the University of Santo Tomas Faculty of Civil Law. His practice include, Government and Regulatory Affairs, Tax and Corporate Law, and Aviation Law. He is also knowledgeable in financial technology, energy production and distribution, government automation and online processes, as well as, online games and amusement.
He is currently a consultant for projects concerning legislative franchises, transportation regulation, and government automation.
Atty. Borja graduated from the University of the Philippines – Diliman
with a degree in Public Administration. She earned her Bachelor of Laws
degree from San Beda College – Mendiola in 2012, and passed the October
2012 Bar Examinations.
She worked as a tax supervisor at R. G. Manabat & Co., an affiliate of
KPMG International, considered as one of the big five auditing firms in
the Philippines. She prepared tax analyses and drafted legal opinions
both for local and international clients.
She served as a legal consultant at the Department of Education Division
of City Schools in Quezon City from 2015 to 2018. She assisted in
drafting of resolutions and orders in adjudicated cases for submission
and approval of the Schools Division Superintendent.
She joined the firm as a Junior Associate in April 2014 and was promoted
to Senior Associate in July 2015. In October 2019, she was welcomed as a
Junior Partner of the firm.
Atty. Borja successfully completed and passed the 19th PDRCI Commercial Arbitration Training Webinar.
Her fields of practice include taxation law, criminal law, civil law,
labor law, and corporation law.
Atty. Beltejar obtained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology at
Miriam College, Quezon City in 2009. She earned her Bachelor of Laws
Degree at San Beda College, Mendiola, Manila in 2016 and passed the bar
examination in 2017. Atty. Vanel’s previous work experiences include
being a Miriam Volunteer at Our Lady of Victory Training Center for
Handicapped Youth in Davao City from 2009-2010 and a Lecturer in Miriam
College from 2011-2014. While in law school, she worked as a Project
Development Officer of the Disarmament, Demobilization, and
Reintegration Program under the Office of the Presidential Adviser on
the Peace Process from 2014-2015.
Currently, her practice includes, corporate, criminal, civil, labor, and
immigration law.
Atty. Derecho graduated from the University of Santo Tomas in 2014, with
a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts.
She earned her Bachelor of Laws Degree at San Beda University, Mendiola,
Manila in 2018. In 2014, she was among the students who received the
coveted Dean’s List award.
She was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2019.
Atty. Derecho was a former legal intern of the Integrated Bar of the
Philippines - National Center for Legal Aid, and the San Beda Legal Aid
Bureau, a clinical legal education program approved by the Supreme
Court. She was also the former Vice Chairperson of the San Beda
University Bar Operations.
Aside from litigation, her areas of practice include corporate,
aviation, labor, civil, and family law.
She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts degree from De
La Salle University-Manila where she graduated with an Honorable Mention
distinction. She earned her Bachelor of Laws degree in San Beda
University in 2018 and passed the November 2018 bar
examinations.
She was a member of the San Beda Bar Operations – Academic Committee
from 2015 to 2017. She also served as a tax intern at Sycip Gorres and
Velayo (“SGV”) in 2017.
At present, she is a member of the Philippine Constitution Association
(PHILCONSA). She is also a bar examination coach at Jurists Bar Review
Center.
Her current fields of practice include civil law, criminal law, labor
law, and corporation law.
Atty. Romano graduated from the University of Santo Tomas, with a degree
in Bachelor of Arts in Political Science in 2014. He was a
student-volunteer and an officer of a University-wide organization. He
was likewise engaged in various community development services.
He earned his Bachelor of Laws degree at San Beda University and passed
the 2018 Bar Examinations.. In 2016, his team became the Champion in the
San Beda College-Internal Law Moot Court Competition and in 2017, he
became a member of Criminal Law committee of the San Beda Bar
Operations.
His areas of practice include criminal law, civil law, administrative
law, labor laws and immigration laws.
Atty. Domantay earned her Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management at
Trinity University of Asia (Cum Laude).
She finished her Bachelor of Laws degree at San Beda University in 2018,
at the age of 22, the youngest in her batch. She was a member of the San
Beda College of Law 2017 Bar Operations- Academic Committee and a member
and officer of the San Beda Vox Legis.
After passing the 2018 Bar Examinations, she joined Gargantiel Ilagan &
Atanante Law. Her areas of practice include Civil Law, Criminal Law,
Corporate Law, Energy Law, and Election Law.
Atty. Cantos earned her Bachelor of Science in Banking and Finance
degree at Polytechnic University of the Philippines in 2014 and finished
her Bachelor of Laws Degree at San Beda University (SBU) in 2018. During
her Senior Year at SBU, she served as a legal intern at San Beda Legal
Aid Bureau (LAB) which provides legal services to indigent clients
through seminars, counselling and appearances in courts. She was also a
member and an officer of San Beda Law Environmental Organization
(LEON).
Having passed the 2018 Bar Examinations, she joined Gargantiel Ilagan &
Atanante Law in June 2019. Since then, her field of practice includes
Criminal Law, Taxation Law, Civil Law, Labor Law, Energy Law, and
Election Law.
Tomas Iñigo P. Socrates is a Thomasian Lawyer, just as his first name
would suggest. He graduated from the University of Santo Tomas (UST)
Faculty of Civil Law in June 2019. He took and passed the 2019 bar
examinations.
His undergraduate degree is AB in Economics, which he took up also in
UST (2010-2014). After graduating, he worked as a Research Analyst at
Factset Philippines, Inc.
He enrolled at UST Law in 2015, as a full-time student. He enjoyed the
process of learning the law and graduated as number 10 of UST Law’s
Batch 2019.
He joined Gargantiel Ilagan & Atanante Law Firm as an underbar associate
in February of 2020. His legal fields of practice are criminal law,
labor law, and civil law.
Outside of work, he participates in the administration and activities of
Universitas Foundation, Inc., a foundation which advocates Principled
Leadership.
Atty. Granado took up his Bachelor of Science in International Business
and Entrepreneurial Management in San Beda College where he graduated
Cum Laude and a recipient of the Council of Management Educators
Academic Excellence Award in the year 2007. Later, he received his
Bachelor of Laws degree from the same institution in 2012.
After passing the 2012 bar examinations, he was hired as a Junior
Associate at Mendoza Antero & Associates Law Offices from 24 June 2013
to 30 June 2016 wherein he practiced general litigation with focus on
labor, criminal, civil and family law, appearing before different trial
courts including the Sandiganbayan. Thereafter, he was promoted as a
Senior Associate in July 2016 and worked as such until October 2017. He
was also a subject professor at Philippine Christian University, where
he taught Partnership and Corporation from October 2014 to March 2015.
He also worked as a Legal researcher at Madrid Danao & Carullo Law Firm
from 02 January 2013 to 17 May 2013.
Atty. Granado was among the few lawyers assigned to handle sensitive
cases such as the PDAF scam and the forfeiture case filed by the
Anti-Money Laundering Council against the principal whistle blower. As a
trial lawyer, Atty. Glen has appeared as prosecutor and a defense lawyer
in numerous criminal and civil cases where he developed various trial
techniques.
Atty. Almario graduated from Trinity University of Asia – St. Luke’s
College of Nursing with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing where
he graduated Cum Laude. He is also a registered nurse, where he ranked
11th in the National Nursing Licensure Exam in 2008. He later earned his
Bachelor of Laws degree from San Beda College of Law – Manila and passed
the 2015 Bar Examinations.
He previously worked for an electoral candidate during the May 2015
elections and as a legal associate of De Guzman San Diego Mejia &
Hernandez Law Firm where he handled a plethora of cases, ranging from
civil, criminal, administrative and labor cases, and corporate services.
Atty. Distor graduated from St. Scholastica’s College-Manila with a
degree in AB Political Science with Specialization in International
Relations, and earned her Bachelor of Laws Degree from Philippine
Christian University. Her previous work experiences include serving as
the Chief of Staff of the then Assistant Secretary for Procurement of
the Department of Transportation; Legal Officer in the Office of the
Assistant Secretary for Legal Affairs of the Department of Agrarian
Reform; Confidential Agent at the Bureau of Immigration, detailed in the
Office of the Undersecretary of the Department of Justice; and,
paralegal in private firms.
Her practice focuses on criminal and
civil litigations, and family law cases.
Atty. Zapata-Herrera graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Legal
Management (Cum Laude) from the University of Santo Tomas in 2012 and
obtained her Bachelor of Laws degree from the same University in 2016.
Her areas of practice include labor, civil and land cases,
estate planning, and corporate services.
Atty. Balauag earned her degree in Bachelor of Science in Management,
major in Legal Management from the Ateneo De Manila University in 2011.
Four years after, or in 2015, she obtained her Juris Doctor degree from
the University of the Philippines-College of Law.
While she was in law school, she worked as a Research Assistant at
the University of the Philippines, Institute for Maritime Affairs and
Law of the Sea from May 2014 to June 2015.
Even before she passed the 2015 Bar Examinations, she started working as
an associate at Bornasal Law Firm where she stayed from December 2016 up
to May 2017. In the said firm, she gained significant experience in
handling all aspects of criminal and civil litigation, including
appeals.
In July 2017, she was hired as a Junior Associate at Gargantiel Ilagan &
Atanante Law where she continued her practice in criminal and civil
litigation. Aside from litigation, she is also engaged in providing
legal services in the field of aviation, labor, corporate, and
administrative law.
